TIPS AND TRICKS

• The angle between any two main or cardinal directions is 90 degrees but the angle between one main and one cardinal direction is 45 degrees.

• For solving the questions from the direction sense test Pythagoras theorem is used which states:

SAMPLE 2: Arihant started from his house towards the North. After covering 8 km he turns left and covers a distance of 6 km. What is the shortest distance from the starting point?

SOLUTION: 10 km

• For solving the problems from the direction-sense test, we use the clockwise and anticlockwise methods.

SAMPLE 3: Arpita is facing the East, she turns 45° in the clockwise direction and then another 180⁰ in the same direction and then 225° in the anticlockwise direction. Which direction is she facing now?
